​COMO LA FLOR

Como La Flor lead singer and Selena tribute performer Karla Perez was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico and has been living in Yuma, Arizona since 1993. She began her musical career at the age of 12 recording singles for political campaigns before going on to win several singing contests at local talent shows and festivals. Karla studied music at the Conservatorio de Guadalajara and at Arizona Western College and has a Master’s Degree in Education. She currently works as a Spanish teacher and remains an active performer, singing at night clubs, weddings, quinceaneras in addition to her work with Como La Flor.

“I love teaching my language and culture, but singing is my passion,” Perez said. “And just like Selena, being on stage makes me feel like I’m flying and on top of the world!”
